Two Americans lose cash and valuables in Angeles City robbery

Two Americans have reported a house break in at their home in Villasol Subdivision in early June.

Lost in the burglary were more than 830,000 pesos worth of cash and valuables.

68-year-old Edward McCarthy and 31-year-old Dailyn Butas, both residing at 63rd St. in Villosal Subdivision went to the hospital on June 4 to have Edward’s knees operated on.

Both victims told police that they secured the front door of the house as well as the house gate before they left. Police noted in their report that neither the gate or the front door of the house showed signs of forced entry.

When the couple returned home from the hospital two days later they discovered the burglary. Upon entering the house they found McCarthy’s safety box broken int. McCarthy told police that the box contained $5,100, £500 and 70,000 pesos, as well as two gold rings worth $2,500, and two watches worth $400.

Upon further inspection of the property they also discovered that Dailyn’s brother’s safety box was also broken into and $700 from inside was missing.
