MANILA, Philippines – Tropical depression ‘Ambo’ has maintained its strength and is headed towards Aurora province. PAGASA said to expect ‘Ambo’ to make landfall at Aurora on Monday.
The tropical storm is expected to weaken as it comes onshore.
As of Sunday the cyclone’s centre was located approximately 140 kilometres northeast of Virac, Catandanues – it is moving slowly with winds as around 45kph near the centre.
Estimated rainfall amounts for Aurora and within a 200 kilometre area is said to fall somewhere between 2.5 to 10 millimetres per hour.
Northern Luzon is may experience heavy rains, including the regions of Bicol and Calabarzon.
Signal #1 has been raised over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Northern Quezon, Aurora, and Quirino. The warning also includes Polillo Islands.
