The highly awaited trial for the undocumented Filipino man in Ohio state, accused in a triple murder came to a quick end on Tuesday.
Igmidio Mista, aged 34, was expected to stand trial in Sandusky, Ohio for killing three men and wounding a fourth during a shooting rampage inside a Fremont bar in March 2014.
Investigators said Mista opened fire inside the bar after getting into a fight with other patrons.
Instead of standing trial, Mista accepted a plea deal for three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
The deal included the dismissal of one felonious assault charge and one charge of possessing a firearm inside a bar.
The judge immediately handed Mista a lifetime prison sentence with eligibility for parole in 44 years when he will be 78.
