Three severed burned heads were discovered by residents in two separate places in Cambuga, Quezon province, last week.
Police said the heads had been mutilated and and burned beyond recognition before being dumped in the area.
A body to one of the victims was discovered later the same day. Officials said that body was a young male. Police are still searching for the other two remains.
Authorities believe the heads were placed in the village to throw off the investigation – no missing persons report was issued in the village or nearby area.
The remains are currently in Lucena City for a full autopsy.
