Three Chinese prisoners were stabbed to death by fellow inmates inside the Davao Penal and Prison Farm in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte on Saturday.
Davao del Norte provincial police identified the men as Li Alan Yan, Chu Kin Tung, and Wong Men Ping. Reports say that two Filipino inmates attacked and killed the three foreigners.
The two suspects surrendered to prison guards after the attack – it was not immediately known what prompted the attacks, sources say the two men are identified as Leopoldo Tan Jr. and Fernando Magdadaro.
The Davao Penal Colony is one of the largest correction facilities under the Bureau of Correction. The 30,000 hectare jail covers the town of Sto. Tomas, and Dujali, as well as the city of Panobo on the island of Mindanao.
