Through the assistance of family, friend and colleagues, Sam has installed what many consider his 12 best photographs showcasing the way life is in the country.

Sam, born in Pieterlen, Switzerland, travelled to the Philippines in 2014 covering other various countries including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Each country Sam stayed in for a maximum of two months. On a final decision, the photographer made his way to the Philippines – this time staying for seven months.

Sam saidt he discovered his “talent” while living in the Philippines. By chance on a trip to Bohol, a video device ended up broken, leaving him to discover the beauty of photography.

“I think I stayed there for so long because I really loved Dumaguete. My plan was to move to China and teach English but it didn’t feel right at the time. I wanted to stay for as long as I can. And then I fell in love with a Filipina and moved to her hometown in Iloilo.”

Traveling from island to island, place to place, he and his new found love Bella saw the inspiration which opened Sam’s eyes to the world of photography.
