Swiss man Paul Gershwiler has published a book on the love of his life, the town of Argao, Cebu. 

The book, entitled Argao: In Search of a Usable Past takes an in-depth look at the town’s history and how it became the community it is today.

The book tells the story of Argao and its culture and historic way of life of its people in early times – the book was released by the Roman Aboitiz Foundation Inc. last week.

The 71-year-old’s book was published by RAFI through its Culture and Historical Unit.

The book launch was held at the Eduardo Oboitz Development Studies Center in Cebu City.

Copies of the book will be distributed to all 45 barangays of Argao and to 54 other local government bodies within the province.

“It will show how people interacted in the past and how this molded us into who we are today,” Mr Roberto said.

To date, only 300 copies of the book have been printed.

Paul Gershwiler said: “I experienced personal, unrestricted help from the Cebuanos. You supported me with all your professional expertise.”

Mr Gershwiler was born in Basel, Switzerland.
