Surigao announces big projects to entice more tourists

The provincial government of Surigao has launched a series of tourism projects to attract more visitors to the region.

Dubbed the 2015 “Marajaw Turismo Advocacy,” the projects include the Socorro Floating Restaurant and the Sabang Mangrove Forests and Parks.

The Department of Public Works and Highways also said that 1.4 million pesos would be spent on improving roadways and other projects to improve visitor facilities.

Other local attractions include the Busay Falls and “Bahay Turista” which were both approved for implementation this year. The popular Tranquility Beach Road will be widened and improved and more accommodation will be built.

A Tourist Assistance Center will be built in Pilar, and a Tourism Pavillion will be constructed in Day-asan as well as a few beach cottages to compliment the area of Buenavista.
