Robbers Board Bus Headed to Gateway Boracay and Rob Passengers of 90K Peso

Bandits struck a bus headed to Caticlan, the gateway to Boracay Island on Wednesday, taking more than 90,000 pesos from passengers.

The incident happened aboard an air-conditioned Ceres bus heading to Caticlan at 3am. The bandits stopped the bus as it passed Zarraga in Iloilo.

One passengers was injured after one of the robbers hit him – his gun went off and luckily the bullet went through the roof of the bus liner.

Many of the passengers were headed to Boracay including two Iloilo students who were headed to the island to do their on-the-job training.

Passengers said the robbers were armed with grenades when they declared the holdup and asked them for money – the robbers even took the backpack of one student to hold all the money and items they took.
