A church minister has been arrested on rape charges involving a 10-year old girl. The minister was caught in an entrapment scheme at his living quarters at the back of the church he worked at in Guiwan Porcentro, Zamboanga City.
55-year-old Rodelio Leyson was arrested at this temporary residence after an older sister saw several lewd text messages on her 10-year-old sister’s phone – all sent by Leyson.
The older sister questioned the girl and she confessed that she was raped by Leyson inside his living quarters on February 14 this year.
The incident was reported to the police for investigation and last Thursday Leyson sent a message to the young girl asking her to come to his living quarters.
Police laid out an entrapment and used the young girl to enter into his room – police rushed in and arrested Leyson and brought him to the Divisoria Police Station where he was detained.
Leyson will be charged with Republic Acts 7610 (the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) as well as 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997).
