A policewoman was mugged by three men while on her way to Pasay City for the final ‘dry run’ for securing the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Manila.
The incident happened over the weekend to officer Jinky Monsanto, a member of the Northern Police District while she was stuck in traffic on her motorcycle along a road in Barangay Capulong, Tondo.
The three robbers attacked the police officer with a knife, stabbing her on the shoulder and taking her bag, as well as her service revolver.
Monsanto reported the incident to the Don Bosco police community precinct where she was able to positively identify one of her assailants from a book of photographs.
The identified mugger was Mark Emil Nicol, who later was arrested on a follow-up operation.
Police recovered from Nicol’s residence Monsanto’s bag, but her revolver and 8,000 pesos were missing.
