Police hunt ‘fiancée’ after US Embassy official’s apartment burgled

The apartment of an official of the US Embassy in Ermita, Manila was burgled this week.

Authorities say thieves took valuables from the apartment of 51-year-old Robert Calvin Davis, deputy chief of the Anti-Terrorism Program at the embassy.

Mr Davis lives in Rosarias Apartments, Adriatico Street in Ermita. Among the items taken was a silver HP Envy Laptop touchscreen, a high-end cellphone and a silver necklace.

An investigation into the matter called for by the Regional Security Officer/Investigator of the US Embassy who reported the incident and asked for a full investigation on the robbery.

Police say the victim’s apartment door was forcibly opened. Mr Davis claims a woman that was with him in his room, who he described as his fiancée.

The guard saw Mr Davis’s fiancée carrying a black bag which he inspected and found only clothing.

Mr Davis was in the apartment again on October 6 and left on the seventh – he returned later that afternoon and discovered the items missing. 

Police questioned everyone involved but were unable to locate his fiancée. She is now wanted for questioning by police.
