Police have broken up a West African Drug Syndicate operating in Tagaytay City, Cavite.
Officials said the group members arrested in the bust are all Filipinos who were taken down one after the other in separate areas with the help of local informants.
So far police have arrested four people associated with the syndicate – their names are being withheld pending further monitoring and arrest of the African leaders and other members within the group.
The Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency and the National Bureau of Investigation have been tracking the group for some time. Arrests have also been made int he cities of Dasmariñas and Imus and Rosario municipality.
Drug charges will be filed against the suspects who have already been arrested. So far the group has been caught with 100 grams of shabu.
Police said that now that their distribution people are arrested they are now looking for their African leaders and other distributors throughout the province.
