Police have arrested a Nigerian in a buy-bust operation at a restaurant in Marakina City.
33-year-old Ejiye Okoye was caught with over one million pesos worth of shabu on Tuesday night. Police believe he is a member of a West African drug syndicate.
Okoye is said to use the alias ‘Martin’. Police say there has been a major West African syndicate operating in Metro Manila and throughout several Central Luzon provinces.
Police also said that Okoye was using a football coaching job in the Philippines to camouflage his illegal drug activities. The Bureau of Immigration noted that Okoye has been living in the country for the past two years.
Police say they confiscated six medium-sized resealable sachets containing shabu with a street value of 1.05 million pesos.
