A German is dead while a Frenchman and an Indian were wounded in a shooting inside McDonald’s in Talisay City at 4am on Friday.
Talisay City police identified the victim as 31-year-old Henry Haffner, a temporary resident of Cebu City.
The two men wounded were 31-year-old Julian Millard of France and 32-year-old Cheten Saparaiya of India. Both live in Talisay City.
Initial reports suggested that Millard and Saparaiya had an argument with two unidentified men inside the McDonald’s. A few minutes later the two men pulled out their guns and shot both foreigners. Millard was hit in the left arm while Saparaiya was hit in the back of the head.
The gunman also shot Haffner. It is unclear if he was with Millard or Saparaiya or merely a bystander.
Millard and Saparaiya were rushed to Vicente Sotto Medical Center in Cebu City, while Haffner was taken to Chong Hua Hospital where he died.
The police recovered empty shells of .45 and 9mm handgun from the crime scene.
A police investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects and the motive of the shooting.
