Mayor Duterte calls in more firefighters to tackle Mount Apo blaze

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterete has ordered Central 911 to head into the hills of Mount Apo and assist in the massive fire there.

Reports so far say that more than 100 hectares have been consumed by the fire, but many who have personally seen the devastation say that at least 200 hectares have burnt since the Holy Week fire started.

Sources say the fire has come nearer to Lake Venado and is spreading quickly.

Firefighters are saying that if the fire is not contained it will easily penetrate the Kidapawan-Magpet-Makilala eco-triangle.
