An IED land mine, planted by communist rebels, has killed two soldiers and a civilian – as well as wounding 15 others in the town of Mabini, Compostela Valley.

The landmine explosion hit a military truck at 6.30pm in Barangay Cabuyoan – the truck was running along the provincial road headed to Mabini when the explosion occurred.

Army officials say that one civilian was killed and one civilian has been seriously wounded in the attack.

An Army soldier and one Citizen Armed Forces member were killed in the attack, along with 14 soldiers who were all slightly injured.
