A Korean man was arrested along with two Filipinas for ‘human trafficking’ near Walking Street in Angeles City.
51-year-old Gwang Ryong Kim, was charged with qualified trafficking after paying for four women to be with his guests at a party.
Authorities say Kim bought the girls to the party to prostitute them to those attending the event.
At the same event, the Police Regional Anti-Trafficking Task Group 3 arrested two Filipina woman – Anita Nazam of Tarlac and Even Maguigasd of Angeles City for attempting to sell a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
Both the Korean and the two Filipinas could face life imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of up to five-million pesos each.
To date, hundreds of suspects have been charged for trafficking in persons in Central Luzon
“Our regional anti-trafficking task group is continuously doing its best to eradicate these trafficking activities not just here in Pampanga but in the entire region through constant intelligence, monitoring, and surveillance of establishments allegedly involved in trafficking activities,” RATTG 3 Head and Angeles Assistant City Prosecutor Carolyn Dumlao-Amis said in a statement.
“If [our] law enforcement chances upon those tourists who are committing crimes under the Philippine law, then they shall be held liable. So I should advise that these tourists better be careful about things like—buying sex in the Philippines or exploiting women in the Philippines,” Dumlao-Armis said.
