A Japanese man was found dead inside his residence in Tugbok, Davao City, on Wednesday afternoon.
54-year-old Hiroshi Nishikawa was discovered in his bathroom at Los Amigos, Tugbok. Nishikawa was a truck driver for the city of Davao and was to attend an appointment with a travel agency with his 15-year-old daughter but failed to come out of the bathroom for an extended period of time. His daughter then knocked on the door.
The daughter rushed to grab the attention of her grandfather living nearby who forcibly opened the door to find Hishikawa inside lying on the bathroom floor lifeless.
A report on the incident showed that a phone interview with his wife, who is living in Japan, said that her husband was diagnosed with a minor disease but never had a history of any severe illness that threatened his life.
Police say the scene of the incident was clean and no signs of foul play was evident.
An autopsy on the victim will take place to find the exact cause of death. The body of the foreign national is presently being held at Saint Peter Memorial Chapel, Calinan, Davao City.
