A 27-year-old Indian man was found dead of strangulation in a sugar plantation in a remote village in Matalam on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Ranjit Singh Brar, who was born in Langiana Khurd, Bagha Kurana district in Mago Punjab, India.

Police say the victim had bruises around his neck, leading them to believe he was choked to death with a rope.
Authorities also believe Brar was a victim of a hold-up or robbery.
Brar had a lending business in Kidapawan City and also did 5/6 lending in various regions of North Cotabato.

The sugar plantation is owned by Tobias Nicor located at Barangay New Bugasong in Matalam.
