An Indian loanshark wrongfully accused a store owner of owing him money from a 5/6 lending business he was running in Kidapawan City.
62-year-old Hiro Wadhwari Kuduwal is a Davao City based money lender who does business throughout North Cotabato and numerous other regions in Mindanao.
Kuduwal is in trouble after arguing with the store lender and then slapping her after she refused to pay him.
Kidapawan City Councilor Ruby Padilla-Sison, co-chair of the Committee on Women and Family of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, condemned the Indian businessman’s action and said they will do everything they can to go after Kuduwal and his money-lending business that prays on helpless borrowers throughout the region.
Kuduwal is accused of barging into the store of the wrongly accused, demanding payment for a loan she never received. He then slapped the woman in front of numerous witnesses.
Officials say three members of the Civil Security Unit grabbed Kuduwal and took him to the local police. Kuduwal wanted the issued settled but the accused wants the lender to pay for his actions.
“We will not just allow any national to degrade a Filipina. He is in our country, therefore, he must accord us respect, especially our women,” said Cllr Sison.
He added that he is going after Kuduwal by checking with the Bureau of Internal Revenue to see if the Indian is paying the appropriate taxes on his lending business.
