A 61-year-old Austrian has been shot dead by by two unidentified assailants in Valencia town, Dumaguete.
Franz Kremser who was staying at the E&K Residence in Barangay Combado, was shot dead at about 11.20am yesterday (Wednesday, March 28).
Chief Inspector Ronoel Fungo, chief of the Valencia Municipal Police Station, said officers were now hunting for a woman who was with the victim before he was shot and killed.
Investigation showed that Mr Kremsmer was driving a motorcycle with the woman riding pillion behind him.
Eyewitnesses have told investigators that he stopped his bike in front of two men who had been waiting by side of the road.
A few minutes later, four shots were fired and the foreigner was found slumped on the ground by local barangay Captain Edward Albina, who informed the police.
Mr Kremser’s female companion is yet to be identified or located.
An autopsy has has confirmed that the death was caused by three bullet wounds, to his back and buttocks.
