Authorities are investigating the death of 54-year-old Bettina Kohl Dumke after she died while diving in the waters of Kalanggaman Islet off the coast of Leyte.

Mrs Dumke was diving with her husband and a guide  when she collapsed.

Her husband and guide rushed her to the Maya Wharf in Daanbantayan and took her to the nearest hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. So far doctors are unable to determine the cause of death.

The equipment used by Dumke is now being held by police until an autopsy is performed.
