Richard Alexander Harbich, aged 39, came to Bacolod to marry his 29-year-old girlfriend (name unknown) whom he met in an online dating site in May 2014.
Harbich, who is temporarily living at a guest house in Bacolod, said he first came to the country in October of last year.
He claims his girlfriend, who is from Murcia, Negros Occidental “drop me like a hot potato” after learning about his financial difficulties. He said “she was always asking for money”.
Habrich said: “I’m down on money,” citing his health issues. He also added that his girlfriend suggested he pawn his laptop – supposedly worth 50,000 pesos – but he only got 20,000 at the pawnshop.
The German also said the woman took his 2,500-peso cellphone and an ATM Card which she used to withdrawal 2,000 pesos.
He is seeking the help of local authorities to find her after she duped him out of money and just about everything he owns.
