German arrested at Davao Airport carrying firearm and bullets

A Manila-bound German was arrested at Davao Airport on Tuesday night after a firearm and ammunition was found in his luggage.

Guenther Kold, aged 55, was barred by aviation personnel from boarding his flight after the discovery.

“He has now been arrested for illegal possession of live ammunition,” said Sasa police station Senior Inspector Paulino Zaulda.

However, Mr Kold claimed he wanted to use the two bullets as “personal jewellery.” He said he bought them from an unnamed he met in Davao City.

“I’m going to make it a necklace,” he told reporters at the airport.
