The 73-year-old, who was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice, is now due to be extradited back to the Philippines after being tracked down in Goa.

Ellis was arrested in July 2015 after police responded to reports from a neighbour saying he engaged in suspicious activities.

An initial investigation found that boys were gathering outside his home after curfew.

When they raided his house, they found Ellis in the company of six children. The boys were rescued and Ellis arrested.

Police said that the boys reported that Ellis touched them inappropriately. They later found indecent photographs of the boys on Ellis’s computer.

Ellis was initially granted bail. In September 2015 he failed to appear at an arraignment hearing. It is believed that he had already skipped the country by then.

Ellis will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9208 (the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) and RA 7610 (the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
