Four fake NBI agents arrested in a sting operation in Angeles City had six handguns and 94 bullets.
The bogus agents were arrested by the Pampanga Criminal Investigation and Detection Team and city police on Monday.
The men all claimed to be NBI agents assigned in Nueva Ecija. Police say they received reports that the men were roaming in Korean Town and inspecting establishments for violations of anti-human trafficking laws.
Police also said that they were informed that the suspects had been extorting money and drinking in different bars without paying their bills. They chanced upon the group at the “Don’t Tell Mama KTV Bar” where one of the men tried to flee the scene but failed.
The men introduced themselves as NBI agents but after bringing the men to the CIDT office, they were informed by NBI Regional Office in San Fernando that the men were not agents at all.
All four will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition of 2013) and also for usurpation of authority.
