Police say that the woman, living in an apartment complex in Nicosia, Cyprus on Trikoupis Street in old town, attempted to evade police on Friday, September 25.

The police officers checked her male Nepalese partner’s papers, which turned out to be valid. The man told police that he lived alone, but the woman had already escaped out of a bathroom window because her visa had expired.

Local reports say she then attempted to jump into an adjacent flat through a light well.
