A farmer was killed by his neighbour after he was caught stealing bananas in a remote village in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.
The incident happened on Wednesday when 39-year-old Pacido Enali was hacked to death by 35-year-old Tirso Carmelo Rapana – both of Sitio Subait of Las Nieves.

Rapana said he was alarmed by his barking dog, prompting him to inspect the area, he found Enali in the act of cutting down a bunch of bananas, when he appraoced Enali, he drew a bolo – prompting Rapana to pull his bolo in self defense.
Village Chairman Renato Baguio surrendered the suspect to the Las Nieves Municipal Police Station.
