The Duterte administration has sent a team with a purported 500 million pesos in financial assistance to help Filipinos going without pay at Saudi Oger.

The assistance is not only to those working for Saudi Oger but also for their families back home in the Philippines.

Sources noted that Filipino workers affected by the downturn in the economy and the construction industry will each receive 20,000 pesos, along with 6,000 for each of their families.

Duterte’s team was sent in thanks for the huge overseas vote that helped him win the presidential race.

Duterte’s team also took to the ground, locating troubled overseas workers who are willing to express their problems.

The team also cemented their efforts to assist their families in the Philippines, helping those with children and educational needs.

The Saudi Filipino community welcomed the visit and assistance offered by the Duterte administration – sources say that many workers have sought help from the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia without answers, that help has now come from the Philippine’s new leader himself.

The news was confirmed by Arab News that the assistance would help more than 11,000 expatriate Filipino workers.
