A Filipino-American who was once discharged from the US Army has been arrested for allegedly selling shabu in Quezon City.

Operatives of the Cubao Police Station launched a buy-bust operation against Allan Gayoso at about 3am this morning (Thursday, January 24).

Gayoso allegedly agreed to sell a police officer, posing as a buyer, shabu worth 500 pesos. Officers then pounced, and arrested the suspect at his residence in in Barangay E Rodriguez, the Quezon City Police District reported.

Confiscated from him were 11 sachets of the drug — including the one sold to the undercover officer — that police valued at 7,000 pesos.

Superintendent Giovanni Caliao, chief of Cubao Police Station, said that Gayoso had been selling shabu “for months”.

He also told GMA News that Gayoso was discharged from the US Army in 2007. However, according to his Facebook page, Gayoso joined the Army in 2008 before leaving in 2012.

Supt. Caliao further said that the suspect returned to the Philippines last year. However, this is again at odds with his Facebook timeline, which places him in the country since September 2016.

His Facebook page also says that Gayoso is from San Diego, California, and that before joining the Army he served with the US Navy on the USS Germantown, a landing ship stationed in Nagasaki, Japan.

His page also states that he currently works as an assistant operating manager with the charity Vision International Philippines. However, posts from last year suggest he has also been involved in contract work with the Philippine Armed Forces.

Gayoso has reportedly refused to give a statement, and remains in custody facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
