Mayor Rodrigo Duterte must be smiling from ear to ear as Davao City has once again won the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities in the highly urbanised city category for the year 2014.
Davao also won the prestigious award in 2013. This is the fourth time the city has taken home the prize, claiming the award in 1998 and 1999 as well.

Under Executive Order #184, the Presidential Award is given by the Council for Welfare of Children to cities and municipalities with outstanding programmes and support systems which strengthen and uphold children’s rights within the Philippines.
