Danish man and two Koreans fall prey to ‘Batang Hamog’ gang in Manila

A Danish man and two Koreans have fallen victim to the notorious “Batang Hamog” in the Malate, Mabini and Ermita regions of Manila. The group has targeted foreigners for years.

19-year-old Dane Branavan Annalingam was surrounded by four boys in Ermita. The boys ask for alms, but distracting their victims while stealing their cellphones. Annalingam said he lost his cellphone after discovering it was gone at a later time.

22-year-old Kim Song Hoon, a Korean was at Red Plant Hotel in Ermita when he was surrounded by six boys using the same manner of distraction when he realised his high-end cellphone was gone.

39-year-old Yunsik Choi was in Malate when four boys stole two high-end cellphones using the same method of attack.

The “Bantang Hamog” gang has used the simple method of distraction for years, lately numerous complaints from foreigners has been on the rise including these three from just this week alone.
