Civil Aviation Authority Confirms PH-Registered Helicopter Crash in Malaysia – www.plnmedia.com

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has confirmed the crash of a Philippines-registered helicopter in the region of Sarawak, Malaysia on May 5.

GCA Skyline Aviation Inc. is said to have reported that their single-engine lightweight helicopter had gone missing and has been located by Malaysian Search and Rescue teams in the Sarawak area.

The helicopter, piloted by Capt. Rudolph Rex Raagas, a Filipino, was found the following day after the crash was reported. A body was reported to be still strapped inside to one of the seats.

Authorities say the body has been identified as Malaysian Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry SecGen Datuk Dr. Sundaran Annamalai.

A second body was discovered nearby in Lingga, that body was brought to Sarawak General Hospital where a formal investigation and identification is taking place now.

A third body was identified at the scene as Ahmad Sobri Harum, the bodyguard to Datuk Noriah Kasnon.

Three other passengers are unaccounted for, including the pilot – search and rescue teams are ongoing.

A report on the incident shows the helicopter and its six crew were headed to Kuching with it was reported just hours after it took off from Betong in Sarawak, Malaysia.
