Police arrested a newly arrived Chinese man when he was caught in a ‘buy-bust’ in Pasay City with more than 13 million pesos worth of shabu.
Zhou Jianguo was arrested after he handed an undercover police officer a travel bag containing 15 plastic bags of shabu in exchange for marked money.
Also taken in the sting operation was Jianguo’s grey Hyundai Tuscon.
Police say they arrested the suspect at 6.15pm on Roxas Blvd at the corner of Buendia Avenue in Pasay City.
Authorities say they set up the buy-bust after a Filipino-Chinese police asset informed them about the suspect, who came from China on September 7. The informant said that Juanguo was out to sell a large quantity of shabu in the Metro Manila area.
Police set up surveillance of the Chinese man and watched him for nearly two weeks.
