A Cebu Catholic Priest is being investigated by his parish for allegations of child molestation with two minors, both part of the church choir.
A Cebu City police report from June of this year shows an incident involving a 16-year-old female who was molested by Fr. Prudencio Operiano of the St. Raphael Archangel Parish Church on Christmas Eve of 2014.
The minor, together with a witness, filed a complaint before the police in Aloguinsan on June 4.
The case alleges that the two girls were given instructions by Operiano to fetch some fruits from his parked car outside the church. The priest, who was seated inside the car, invited both the girls to his room where the incident occurred.
If found guilty, Operiano will be charged with violating Republic Act 7610 (the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
An initial investigation into the incident was started the same day the girls filed the report
The parish, located in rural the rural town of Aloguinsan, is located some 73km southwest of Cebu City.
Investigators into the charges say that progress has been slow as the families of the two girls have not cooperated in the matter.
An initial story on the case reported that only one girl was involved, as of this publishing the facts are now stating there were two girls involved.
