The Bureau of Immigration has barred Alex Ariza, former coach of Manny Pacquiao, from returning to the country.

Commissioner Ronaldo Geron ordered Ariza’s named included on the BI’s blacklist on March 7 after Ariza became unruly when asked to pay a fine for overstaying.

The incident took place on February 21st at the NAIA Terminal #1.

A spokesperson for BI said Ariza was “unruly, arrogant, and disrespectful to immigration officers and passengers.”

Ariza was originally issued a tourist visa when he entered to the Philippines, the visa expired on January 16. He extended his stay without applying for a proper extension.

At the airport, Ariza was prevented from leaving the country until he paid 11,728 peso fine for overstaying for more than a month.

Officials say that Ariza accused the immigration officers of extortion and threatened to make phone calls to prominent figures.

Ariza paid the fine, and left the country that day, but has now be added to the blacklist roster of the Philippines and is permanently barred from re-entering the country.
