A retired British school teacher was stabbed to death in his dream home in San Rafael, Bulacan, on June 17.
69-year-old Brian Bridge of Kingsley, Hampshire, was stabbed multiple times, while his wife jumped from an upstairs window to escape being killed herself.
An investigation into the matter is now showing a possible conflict in a business venture the couple had going in San Rafael.
Bridge and his 59-year-old Filipina wife Estrillita lived in their dream home on stilts in Sitio Dacutan in the region of San Rafael, province of Bulacan. The Bridges were known for their self-supporting lifestyle, living off the land and creating organic gardens with the locals.
Estrillita remains in hospital after breaking a leg and hip in her attempt to flee the scene of the murder. Bridge’s body has already been flown back to the UK for burial.
