A British man’s family was killed and dumped into a septic tank at Deca Homes in the town of Minglanilla, about 17-kilometres south of Cebu City.
In all, three men have been arrested for the murder of the mother and daughter. Like the American who was killed along with his wife in Occidental Mindoro this week, they were killed by the hired hands of the house.
The bodies of 37-year-old Virginia Sharpe and her daughter, Mica Ella Sharpe, were found floating in a septic tank – both killed by hired help.
Both victims were stabbed multiple times and were in a state of decomposition when discovered by concerned officials.
The daughter (age not known) was wearing her school uniform.
So far three men have been arrested – all hired-hand carpenters who were found in the possession of items belonging to the victims.
The suspects are still being interrogated. The motive for the killing appears to be robbery related.
Police say the discovery did not happen until Thursday, but the crime may have taken place over the weekend.
An initial investigation shows that neighbours had not seen the two since the weekend. Concerned, they decided to check on them and forced opened the front door. Once inside, a pungent smell was noticed, leading to the discovery of the mother and daughter in the septic tank near the kitchen.
Information from the media shows that Virginia is the wife of a British man based in London – he was apparently not in the Philippines at the time of the killings.
