Binian said that at 10.30am, she came to visit her partner, but as she entered King’s house, she was greeted by a foul smell.

Binian closed the door and ran down toward Betty Mageña, the owner of the house, to ask for help. Mageña called the Bulua police and reported what Binian found.

Binian told the Sun.Star that she and King didn’t live in the same house since the latter wanted to live alone. Binian and King weren’t married but were in a relationship for eight years. Binian has seven children and lived in Tambo in Barangay Macasandig.

“I only visited him once or twice a week so I could monitor his health or if he needed something,” Melanie said.

She told police that King had been battling weakness or feebleness since February this year. Binian said they even went to see a doctor in one of the hospitals in the city but the doctor didn’t find King sick.

Joseph Mageña, Betty’s nephew, told the police that he didn’t notice King went out of the house for several days and couldn’t also remember the last time he saw King came out.

Joseph said King routinely watched television, ate his bread and drank milk. He also told the police that he never noticed any commotion between Binian and King.

“I haven’t noticed any conflict between Melanie and King. All I know is that they didn’t live in the same roof and that she visited him once or twice a week,” Joseph said.

King was renting Mageña’s residence since 2004 at 10,000 pesos a month.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives has been doing further investigation and also an autopsy on King’s body.

King is the brother of Tony King, the owner of Kingston Lodge House located at Mastersons Avenue in the uptown area. Tony is still in Manila and had been informed his brother’s death according to Binian.

The police are still conducting further investigation on the death of the British expat.
