26-year-old Jenel Peñascosa of Iloilo, has been arrested for his part in a cyber-crime sex extortion (sextortion) complaint filed against him by a 20-year-old Iloilo college student.

So far, extortion, human trafficking, attempted rape, resisting arrest and a few other charges have been filed against Peñascosa.

Peñascosa is accused of attempting to force the female student into having sex with him with the threat of releasing her nude photos on the internet – he also asked for money as well.

The extortion case began when Peñascosa was given nude photos of the girl from an Australian national by the name of Kimwell Gnomes, a common friend of both Peñascosa and the 20-year-old college student.

So far, Peñascosa refused to give a statement in the case filed against him – the Women and Children’s Desk of the Iloilo City Police has filed the charges against him at the Iloilo City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.

Peñascosa was caught in an entrapment operation on Friday night last week at a hotel in Iloilo City – the young women is said to come from a well-to-do family – she has noted that she will pursue the charges against  Peñascosa.

Police will also look into the way Peñascosa secured the nude photos – so far police know that the Australian, Kimwell Gnomes and the female student had several intimate moments online via Skype.

From there, the images of those intimate moments ended up in the hands of Peñascosa where he perpetrated the sextortion crime against the college student.
