This time 64-year-old Goran Smedjer was the target of a half-million peso scam pulled by two officers.

Manachem Baking and Ricardo Cabrera Jr. are now under arrest by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) after they received 280,000 pesos of a 500,000-peso extortion deal they tried on the Swedish man.

The report noted that Mr Smedjer invited two women to his apartment on January 25. Just a few minutes later, a third women barged into his apartment claiming to be the mother of the two women.

The police supposedly negotiated with Mr Smedjer, telling him that no complaint would be filed by the mother if he paid her 500,000 pesos.

Mr Smedjer sought the help of the CIDG, who then staged a sting to catch the two police officers. During the arrest, weapons including a M16 rifle, a 9mm pistol, a .45 pistol and a bulletproof vest were confiscated.
