Boutique airline AirSwift has announced a new weekly service connecting two of the country’s top tourist destinations, Bohol and El Nido.
The maiden flight is due to depart from Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA) tomorrow (Monday, March 24).
The service will run in both directions every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. It will depart from El Nido Airport at 8.55am and from BPIA at 11.10am.
AirSwift was founded as Island Transvoyager in 2002 and changed its name in 2015. The company says its name and logo is inspired by the Palawan Swiftlet. It is these birds that give El Nido – Spanish for “the nest” – its name.

Described as the only ‘boutique’ airline in the Philippines, it operates a fleet of two ATR 42-500 and two ATR 42-600 turboprop aircraft.
It also operates out of Manila, with services to El Nido, Sicogon and Basco.
From El Nido, it provides direct routes to and from Boracay, Cebu, Puerto Princesa, Busuanga and Clark.
According to its Facebook page, ticket prices on various routes can start at 1,400 pesos.
AirSwift aims to cater for tourists who wish to hop from one tourist destination to another without having to fly in and out of Manila or Cebu. According to the airlines website, its mission is: “To provide our customers with a delightful end-to-end travel experience that is safe, efficient, unique and welcoming. Boholano pilot, Lester Nikki Banzon of Tagbilaran City, will be the first officer of the maiden flight. He will assist Captain Kristian Corvera and Captain Louie Abelo. Mr Banzon completed his pilot training in New Zealand.
