Shabu worth 40 million pesos seized from Davao City dealers

Some 40 million pesos worth of suspected illegal drugs was seized from three men in an anti-drug operation in Davao City on Thursday.

Police conducted a sting operation and served search warrants on the three residents in Barangay 37-B, GMA Davao reported Friday.

Targeted in the operation was one Jimmy Plaza a.k.a. Jun Pangit, while the search operation was for a case of robbery and illegal drugs against Plaza.

“Tumigil na ako niyan… Mga tatlong linggo na akong tumigil kasi naaresto yung kumpare ko kaya tumigil na ako,” said Plaza, who was among the three arrested.

Seized from him were a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu). Police found in his house 10 elongated sachets and seven medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu, and a container with suspected marijuana.

Also arrested were Plaza’s suspected companions Rosgerron Pereyras and Charito Plaza. Seized from them were two elongated sachets of shabu.

An investigation showed Jun Plaza managed to elude arrest by moving from house to house – until Thursday.

“(S)a buy-bust, sa labas lang ng bahay (ni Jun Plaza), naroon din itong dalawa (Pereyras at Charito Plaza). Ang nangyari kasi, parang kapag may buyer na pupunta doon, sasalubungin nila, mag-uunahan sila kung sino ang mabibilhan,” said San Pedro police chief Senior Inspector Ronald Lao.
